ICC Champions Trophy Betting Odds & Fixtures - Bet on Cricket Online
After a long hiatus, international cricket will see the reintroduction of the ICC Champions Trophy. The 2025 edition pits some of the top teams in the ODI rankings against each other in a short, sharp format.
Unlike the 2023 World Cup contested over six weeks, the ICC Champions Trophy is a 15-match tournament where fans will be treated to quality white-ball action. There will be a flurry of betting odds floating about at reputable international sites, including Stake.com, and there will be ample markets available.
The tournament is nearly upon us. This guide will discuss the format and schedule, betting types for cricket matches and run through a couple of the contenders.
What is ICC Champions Trophy?
The ICC Champions Trophy is a 50-over competition. Dragged out of the wilderness after last being staged in 2017, Pakistan will be the main hosts, with matches involving Team India played in Dubai.
Political tensions between Pakistan and India have also hurt sporting relations. Matches between Pakistan and India will be played at neutral venues until at least 2027.
As a security solution, the tournament organisers have split the venues up. Ultimately, the outcome of matches involving India and Pakistan will dictate where they play the semi-final or Final if both advance to the knockout stages.
History of ICC Champions Trophy
Originally known as the ICC Knockout when it was first staged in 1998, the competition was renamed the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002. The first tournament was rain-disrupted and ended in a no result.
When the competition was revamped, it was staged every two years. After, the event switched to a four-year cycle involving the top eight teams. Australia has been a leading light, with two triumphs, and there have been some surprise winners in previous editions, including the West Indies.
This year’s champions will get their hands on the glittering trophy and pull on a suave white jacket which is supposed to measure their greatness.

India
Despite taking a gamble on Jasprit Bumrah, who has been struggling with a back injury, India, the 2013 winners boast plenty of experience and are always a threat.
Rohit Sharma, for example, has well over 10,000 runs in the ODI arena, and he always comes to the boil in major tournaments. India can produce lights out cricket and are formidable.
Australia
Known for their unrelenting competitiveness, Australia have gone for a mix of balance and experience with their squad. The two-time winners have included Pat Cummins, although his participation is in doubt after he was carrying an ankle problem in the 3-1 Test series win over India at the start of the year.
The Aussies will be eager to add another title to their bulging collection, and they are likely to be in contention.
